Archiproducts Design Awards
Archiproducts, the largest network for architecture and design, presents the first edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards (ADA2016), created to celebrate the excellences in international design. The award comes from 15 years of experience in registering the best international design production thanks to the collaboration with 3.500 companies and the large community of architects and designers that follow the portal since always.
“Care of the project” and its connection with the manufacturing world is the main theme of the award.
Many companies still dream and believe in the value of the project: here’s how the collaborations between designer and companies become stories of men and women that fabricate and design items that have the power to change people’s lives, to simplify gestures, to increase the wellness.
The award celebrates the excellence of design through 13 categories: Furniture, Bathroom, Kitchen, Outdoor, Office, Contract, Lighting, Wellness, Decor, Finishings, Building, Envelope Building e Construction Tech.
Winners are selected by some of the most interesting international architecture studios, along with journalists, entrepreneurs, designers and architectural photographers. Among these personalities we can mention the Brasilian architect Marcio Kogan, founder of mk27 studio; the Israeli Pitsou Kedem, author of several important projects in Israel; Benoit Jallon and Umberto Napolitano from LAN Architecture studio based in Paris; the Spanish architect Fran Silvestre; the Mexican designer Hector Esrawe; the Portuguese architectural photographer Fernando Guerra, founder with his brother Sergio of Últimas reportagens studio; the journalist Riccardo Luna, first editor-in-chief of the Italian edition of Wired; Sam Baron, Creative Director at Fabrica; Andrea Marcante and Adelaide Testa, founders of the UdA Architetti based in Turin; Alfonso Femia, Simonetta Cenci and Gianluca Peluffo from architecture studio 5+1AA, based in Genova.
Acqua, one more award
Acqua, lamp designed by Luta Bettonica, wins the Best of Category 2016 badge in the Lighting category .
Acqua is a modular suspension lamp that recalls the image of a luminous cascade where the lighting fixture is like a drop that hosts in its concave part the light source. The modules come in 5 different finishes and a rapid connector enables the modules to be connected to each other. This important feature allows to create an infinite choice of structural and environmental lighting configurations.
The “Care of the project”, fundamental value of the work of Luta Bettonica, allowed to conceive a product of design that, for its features, is more than a lamp, thanks to the evocative play of lights and shadows.
Acqua can be installed individually or in series, suspended or on the ground, is equipped with led chip-on-board and the intensity of light is adjusted thanks to a dimmer that allows you to create plays of soft and refined lights that can be integrated into any type of interior.
We also find the floor version from the same family Acqua Filo. This modular luminaire suspended between floor and ceiling is powered from a socket, for direct and/or indirect lighting. Fitted with a rapid-connector jack, it can take up to three luminaires choosing from both the Uplight and the Downlight versions.
