Archiproducts Design Awards
Since 2016 Archiproducts Design Awards is a point of reference regarding quality, creativity and innovation in the contemporary Design world. During the last years it has been a common ground for new synergies among designers and brands all over the world.
In 2020 these aspects have been decisive: as a result of the pandemic, all the brands are searching for a new balance in order to counteract revenue decreases.
In 2020 Archiproducts Design Awards has been followed with a greater enthusiasm than previous editions, encouraging and supporting who has reacted with strength and sacrifice to this difficult situation.
The ADA 2020 participants were 750, divided in 14 categories: in October the jury has proclaimed the Longlist, while in November the winners have been announced.
The jury is composed by the most attractive international architectural firms, designers, creative directors, editors, photographers and creative hubs. Among the others, Studio Libeskind, UNStudio, Matthew McCormick, Marcio Kogan, Piero Lissoni, Mecanoo, Quincoces Drago, Diego Grandi, Rossana Orlandi, studiopepe, Fabio Fantolino ed Edoardo Tresoldi. For the first time Patrik Schumacher, director of Zaha Hadid Architects, Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin of Formafantasma, Giovanna Castiglioni, Vicepresident and general secretar of Achille Castiglioni Foundation, Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran of DIMORESTUDIO, NYC, Hana Hakimo of the Australian Stella Collective and the photographer Omar Sartor.
As in previous years, the prize, designed by MUT Design, will be built using the De Castelli method, an exclusive metals oxidation and stratification process, another excellence in the design world.
Ognidove, a lamp signed by the designers Bettonica and Leone
Ognidove lamp, designed by Luta Bettonica and Giancarlo Leone, has been awarded as Winner 2020 in the Lighting category. Luta and Giancarlo met in 1996 and founded Studio Bettonica Leone in Milan, combining creativity and a special care for details in architectural and interior design projects.
Luta Bettonica is president and artistic director of Cini&Nils, a company which since 1969 has stood out all over the design world for its innovative lamps such as Cuboluce, FormaLa, Acqua and Passepartout. Research, innovation, attention to detail, quality of the materials and made in Italy are always the Cini&Nils points of strength.
The winner lamp of 2020 Archiproducts Design Awards is part of the new product collections, inspiring to modern concepts of object transformation and ductility.
It’s possible to add to the lamp a vase for a single bloom: both of them are fitted with magnets at the bottom to enable you to to position them freely on the base or any metal surface. Furthermore the vase allows different compositions so that it will fit perfectly in each situation: fresh flowers are great for a romantic dinner, while a combination of branches and dried flowers could be an elegant furniture element.
Available both in tabletop and floor version. All the elements are available in different finishes: gold, silver and matt black. Ognidove spreads an atmospheric light, suitable both for indoor and outdoor use: a wireless and dimmer touch system makes it very easy to use.
